There’s nothing more rewarding than using snow to backtrack deer. This is one of the ABSOLUTELY most critical things you can do to figure your bucks out. I try to do this as early as possible in January while the bucks are still in their near rutting pattern. This allows me to know where the bucks preferred bedding area is, what route he uses, and how he gets to it. All this info can be very important the next fall if you are targeting that specific buck.
